10Sp English: Tomorrow when the war began chapter 5-8

1)What does Corrie’s choice in career say about her character?
That she's active getting to one place to another.

2)What is the first sign that something is wrong at Ellie’s house?
That nobody was there and that they couldn't find a note from her parents that they have gone somewhere like the

3)Do you think the way the teenagers reacted to the realisation that Australia may have been invaded or at war was realistic? Why/why not
Yes because once they started to get worried about why their parents weren't there they started to think that something big was going on and that they didn't know what was happening.

4)What possible reasons exist that could spark war or invasion of Australia?
Having a bad leader/minister to lead the country and have people betraying the country by asking another country to come over and invade it.
5)Which people in the group are starting to stand out as leaders, is this surprising? Why/why not?
Homer, Fi, Kevin, Corrie these people in the group stand out because ever since the day of how the war started they now became more included with everyone in the group because different people have their way of showing there selfs.

6)How is Ellie’s image of Kevin changing in chapter 7 from chapter 3?
That now he's starting to take everything seriously now, and now he's nicer and stronger than before.
7)Why does the idea of a female soldier surprise Ellie?
Because she's never seen a female soldier in the army before or maybe because there's something about the female soldier that she might remember that she could be her friend or sister.

8Ellie and Kevin’s quick-thinking allowed them to turn a ride-on lawnmower into a bomb. Was this moral behaviour? Did they do the right thing, or should they have surrendered themselves?
Yes, they did the right thing because if they surrendered to them they would be in the same place as everyone else that's in the showground (where everyone is held in).

9)Homer says, “This is war now, normal rules don’t apply. They’re the ones who tore up the rule book, not us”” What does this say about his character? What do you think of the validity of his opinions?
That he's more a leader that wants to let everyone know that he's in charge of everything and what goes on in the following events.

10)What pieces of evidence from the book inform the reader that this invasion wasn’t entirely peaceful? Find at least 3 examples.

10Sp English: Tomorrow when the war began Chapter 1-4

1)What are the advantages and disadvantages of first-person narration?
We couldn't tell about the other characters feelings, because it was mainly just about Ellie. Another one is that she had some things to do with friends meaning going out camping and trying to convince the parents to let them go.

2)What kind of story do you think Ellie is going to tell? Uses evidence from the text to support your answers.
A good story, it starts off being all unorganised and with a bad relationship with friends. But then throughout the whole things when going to the campsite things started getting to a good story.

3)What set of skills do these characters have that convince their parents that they can ‘go bush’ independently. Find examples for three characters.
Ellie, Fi, Homer Ellie gives her friends a ring and then tries to persuade the parents to let her friends go with her.
Fi, minding her own business then Ellies calls in.
Homer, Bullied people then got ask about camping out with Some of Ellie's friends or because of Kevin he got ask that it was gonna be him so he asked homer.

4)What picture of Kevin do we get in chapter 3?
That he gets scared really quick, due to his dishonesty of being brave and all.
5)What does Ellie liken Fi to? Do you think this is a fair assessment of her character? Use examples from the text to support your thinking

6)Ellie claims that ‘Hell’ is only a label and that people label things all the time, often ignoring or overlooking certain labelled places or things. She then comes to the conclusion that ‘Hell was people’. Is she right? What’s your opinion, on labelling and Hell?
Yes, she is because in my opinion hell can be a place for people but also hell can be people at the same time. In saying that Hell can be a label but also a place with being hell for people. So yes I agree with Ellie's point of view.

7)What was especially peculiar about the planes that flew over Hell? ‘Their ------, their ------, their----- frightened me.’ Do these characteristics have any significance?
That it came out of nowhere so they don't know what will happen. Yes because they are important to the story along with everyone in it unless its something that's going to be boring with no characters.

10Treble: Funny??? Not Funny???

What is comedy?
Comedy is a genre of being funny in a way of trying to make the person or audience laugh or not laugh (which is still funny because of the awkwardness).

Greg Davies-Funny

 The Play that goes wrong?!

Find three types of comedy:
Slapstick - One of the three that includes physical contact with the other to make people laugh.

Farce - The Second one that turns from a boring situation to a ridiculous show meaning from good/boring to funny and ridiculous.

Satire - Is the last one that sends people to do a play or show by mocking and being ridiculous to other people to make the audience laugh.

What do you find funny?
People that make a mistake (as in swear and make it funny) like Marlon Webb he's funny.
Example:
