The Investigation: How high a ball can bounce on its first bounce

Aim: To see How high its first bounce would be from different heights

Hypothesis: The higher the ball is dropped the higher it will bounces

Equipment:
-Ball-Tennis ball.
-Metre ruler.
-Retort stand.
-Boss head and clamp.

Method:
1)Get the tennis ball
2)Go somewhere high enough to drop the ball u have
3)Measure the height you're dropping it from
4)Drop it and measure the first bounce.
5) record the results
6) do it again from different heights.

Key variables

Dependent: Measuring the bounce of the ball.

Independent: The height your dropping from.

Control: Kept the same ball for this science experiment.

Results:

Heights - cm
Reading
101cm
41cm to 43cm
89cm
28cm to 30cm
371cm
109cm to 112cm
76cm
36cm
63cm
30cm
51cm
17cm to 20cm
8cm
1cm

Discussion: I thought that the ball would bounce higher but I was wrong. It didn't bounce as high as I expected
Conclusion:  In conclusion the ball didn't bounce high and the experiment went good but the ball didn't bounce as high as I expected.

  1. Brilliant blog post Jireh! Just make sure we take 2 readings at each height and i'm sure you could put a picture up here as well :)
