What did the Treaty of Waitangi say?

Using the two versions of the Treaty - the Treaty of Waitangi and Te Tiriti o Waitangi - and the main point(s) for each Article discuss in pairs what the main differences are and then explain them in the following spaces. Then reflect on why you think these differences in perspectives on the Treaty would cause conflict between Māori and Pākehā.

10Sp Social Studies: Treaty of Waitangi Presentation

Treaty of Waitangi
In this presentation, I have researched about Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it has to do with the treaty between Maori's, Scottish and the English.  To make peace with other countries you first have to agree on laws, rules and leaders. So how was Te Tiriti o Waitangi have to do with this well since New Zealand was discovered, the English have managed to find people in-land then things got along and then a treaty was needed because of wars between both lands and people.

10Sost:Treaty Of Waitangi

This Essay will argue the treaty of Waitangi which has many reasons why it was signed.

Historians argue that understanding the causes of significant events is much more important than just
remembering dates, facts, and figures about things in the past. Signed in 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi is
an agreement between Māori—Tangata Whenua of Aotearoa—and the British. The treaty was signed
for some reasons such as Land, Muskets, and Trading for food to get those muskets if the treaty wasn't
signed there would be a lot of Fights, Prostitutes, and Wars.

Lawless Behaviors
Without the treaty, everything would be Madness. Without the treaty, there would be a lot of drinking,
protraction and fighting, between Māori’s and Pākeha. Some of the evidence state that both Pākeha
and Māori’s used alcohol and turn into a bad situation by fighting over things for there rights.
There wasn’t any treaty to agree on so there could be peace between the two races.
So to sum up my point, if there isn't any treaty signed  there would be no rules and no laws, because of
that a lot of people died.

Māori Right’s & The Missionaries
The Missionaries wanted to help protect Māori rights. The Missionaries and the Māori’s wanted to be
on good terms so then it doesn’t cause any problems with each other such as… Slavery is bad, selling
Māori’s to other things and people outside of there home. For example, their Religion, Shared technology
and Purchased land for the Māori’s. If there wasn’t any treaty signed then Māori’s wouldn’t have any
rights with anything they do.

Musket Wars
The introduction of Muskets to NZ caused a series of wars also know today as the Musket Wars,
basing it on the treaty if that wasn't there then, of course, there would be a lot of wars between each
tribe of the Māori’s and Pākeha. Some of the examples are The musket wars killed over 20,000 people,
Land boundaries changed rapidly as a result of this and Muskets were gained through trade with/Pākeha
they traded large quantities of food and flax. The Musket wars caused increased violence and deaths
because there were no laws around the ownership of muskets. A Treaty prevents this and provies
stability.

Declaration of independence
Was there anything in place before the treaty?
Interestingly, enough the declaration of independence was signed because they both agreed to sign it to
help change the declaration was signed on 28th of October 1835 in the hands of James busby Māori
could trade in legal terms because of the flag and could express rangatiratanga. There were no laws
created to protect māori as had lead agreed in the declaration

Without the treaty, we wouldn't have the thing we have today.
When there wasn't a treaty the ships would sail in and the pakeha and the Maori would get
drunk and start fights and use people for prostitution then there would be killing for items when
James busby came up with an idea of making a declaration of independence it still wasn't
enough. The English wanted to protect the Maori so they decided to make the declaration of
independence so they could both agree on. This is why the treaty was signed for them to be safe.

Critical Literacy: Adverts targeting young adults under ages

How are people represented in N.Z Anti drinking advert?
People in different cultures mainly Pacific islanders, Maori's and white people (No Offence) but in N.Z the only people or young adults that represent in Anti drinking adverts are Pacific islanders and Maoris because of the adverts saying that drink with mates or drinking by yourself is bad because of the outcome of the situation after you have left the bar or some mates house. It targets people underage like 16+ and up.

10Eng:Essay Brainstorming - People under 16 yrs of age should not be allowed?

People under 16 should not be allowed to buy energy drinks?
A lot of people would disagree with what I'm about to say but. I agree, that People under 16 shouldn't be buying energy drinks because it students or people only just drink it because of its taste, unlike some people energy drinks could give them a boost to keep them up for the rest of the day. So for an example, you had gone to sleep too late and decide to have an energy drink to keep you up for the next day.

10Eng: Creative writing Unexpected wealth Task 4

Unexpected Wealth

So as I was cleaning out my garage because of the state it was in, I managed to find an old shoebox in the corner of the garage collecting dust as it sits there. When I had gotten closer to it and picked it up, the weight of the box seemed off like it was a lot heavier than a normal shoebox. So I took the box from the corner of the garage
and opened it, and inside was something unimaginable what laid in the box was $40,000 inside the box. Before even thinking about taking this money I thought about some questions like how it got there? or who placed it there?.

Do P.E classes waste students learning time?
No, it doesn't, because P.E (Physical Education) helps the body focus on being alive and being active instead of just sitting and not moving. Sure people may think that it is, but most of the students think it is good for health and movement.

Essay Brainstorming: Reality vs VR (Virtual Reality)

Reality vs VR (Virtual Reality)
Reality is pretty much the best. You get to see more things than inside a VR World plus you would need to know about the world in order to make something digital. Reality is where you get to be free and be around places eat REAL food and so on. On the other hand, you have VR which many people like, you can do things imageable or beyond your limits. A lot of People would prefer VR other than Reality. They don't see some of the problems that they are gonna face in the VR Community that something bad would go wrong and that they wouldn't be able to fix it.

Workshop 4: How is colour used to enhance the story?

What types of colours are used in this location?

How do the different colour palettes change the feel of the story?

Why has the director used these colours?

Meaning of Palette-Colours you're using.

Picture 1 - District 12-the beginning

Colours: Grey, Brown, Green, white nature palette
Feel: Dark, Old, Gloomy
Life is hard! they are poor and struggling.
Pictures 2 - The Capitol

Colours: Bright, Cyan, metallic palette, pinks - people silvers, white, grey - environment
Feel: Crowed, Futuristic, Luxurious
Life is easy! they are rich and they have access to everything.
Picture 3 - Control Room

Colours: Cyan - Blue, White, Black
Hologram Clinical - Clean.
Feel: Technological, Crisp, Clean
These are professional

Themes:
*Rich vs Poor
*Power Struggle
*Hope & Rebellion

Colour is used effectively to create atmosphere. We see this in the two scenes - District 12 at the beginning and the Capitol as Katniss and Peeta arrive. In District 12 we see a natural palette of browns, greys and greens whereas in the Capitol people wear bright colours and a metallic palette of greys, silvers and white is used. This makes us understand that things in District 12 are dark, old and gloomy whilst life in the Capitol easy, crowded and futuristic. The director did this because of the imbalance of Rich Vs Poor. This shows life is hard and people are poor in the district but in the Capitol Life is easy.

10Eng:Cats are better than Dogs

So I am learning to brainstorm as many ideas as I can and when ideas come to mind it starts to go all out so filled up everything that came to mind.

My hypothesis:

I stand for cats, my statement is gonna be about "Cat being better than Dogs".

My Strongest points:

Cats are cleaner than dogs.
Cats are much quieter than dogs.
Cats make good company when inside.

I agree Cats are better than doggo's, Hi my name is Jerry A.K.A Jeray and today I am arguing about cats and dogs who would be better at what. My first point is "Cats are cleaner than dogs". It's true that cats are cleaner than dogs because the fact is that they can clean themselves, and you wonder where hairballs come from.  Besides, dogs play in the dirt way too much and then come home making lots of paw prints on the floor of your house.
