10Sp Sost: Research Child soldiers

Child Soldiers
(Children being soldiers)
It's happening in more than 85 countries from ages 4 and up which means its already way to cruel to be the worst in the world.

History about when and how it started
The history of kids being soldiers in the army goes from like 1861 - now since it's still going they want to keep growing in numbers so they can get the better hand at everything in the world.

There are about 250,000 Kids estimated in the world of some of the countries since there are so much of them in 85 different sides and parts of the world it makes it harder for the kids going to war with lots of training in the army which does help but really doesn’t.

Child soldiers TODAY

Kids within the countries of The Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, are being trained to be soldiers in the army so they can protect their countries with what they have learnt. Apparently, they burned their passports so then they couldn’t leave the country to join other people. Since their countries think the other might be bad and turn on each they make sure who they don't go anywhere near them to talk or even communicate with them.

10Sp English:TWTWB Questions chapter 9-12

1)Why, in Ellie’s opinion, is Cobbler’s Bay and Wirrawee so important to the invaders? Pg. 108
Because both places are good for small operations for the invaders to have a small camp and to keep quiet with the rest of the invaders country crossing to the main invaded land.
2)Corrie and Ellie reminisce about how innocent they were in high school and even a few days ago. Why were they still innocent then? Why are they no longer innocent? Pg. 107
They don't think that it will be safe again so they change themselves to being safe and innocence to being a rebel and unsafe but also strong and on-going.
3)By blowing up Corrie’s house, what does the invading force demonstrate to the teenagers? That they would keep up there guard and never let a single person live within there range.

4)Describe the strategy Homer and Ellie use to ensure their safety when riding their bikes into town. What does this show about how they are starting to think? P 124-125
First, they had to ride down hills for like 1k each then wait for a bit then homer comes up with some names like vege names then gives it to the people going in the city. Then like homer and Ellie are like 200k's away from each other but managed to get out of the city. The way they think is how they have a bit of fun but then a lot of thinking and seriousness when seeing people and being on guard.

5)How does Ellie feel as she is waiting in the truck at the Council Depot? Where do her emotions come from? P. 141
Her emotions show that she is scared and worried but she is also emotional because of her shivers

6)Why is it so terrible that Chris falls asleep while on sentry duty? How does Ellie react? Why do you think she reacts this way? How does she feel about her reaction later? Pg.162
She gets very angry because of her friend or family member because  Chris is meant to get cars with the soldiers and if Chris is not  looking out for the invaders then he won't know what is going to happen and it  will be easier for them to do what they want and it is also easier for them to take the teenagers.

The Top 10 Worst Country's for Child Labour

Why are we doing this?
We are doing this because we need to learn about what is going on in the world that we don't know about, and that "Child Labour" Is still going unto this day and now.
Also, we do this because we might even get into a situation and might know what to do or mainly just learn about what happened back in the days

How is this related to child labour?
This relates to child labour because in the country's that have most of the "Child labour" been doing this for a very long time due to just the increase of children in child labour.

My map and info about
"Top 10 Worst Countries in the world"
Paragraph
Why are children used in Labour and how does this take away their human rights and freedom?

In countries like Sudan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan Child Labour is a very big problem within the whole world. Because of this kids at the age of 4 and up have been forced to be slaves to work and pay off their parent's debt. But knowing that the children working so hard to pay off the debt they only get paid a small amount even when working so hard they still get a bit of what they had been working for. Also in countries like them the child labour is so bad that children don’t get the right to be educated because slavery stop’s them from going to school like other normal kids and doing whatever they want, and because their parents sold their children to a buyer, they needed to pay off a debt they made with someone else. So they sold there own child to pay off the parents debt well they pay off someone else’s debt. Child labour can take away children’s freedom, time, and life since they are slaves for those who are buyers.

That nobody was there and that they couldn't find a note from her parents that they have gone somewhere like the

3)Do you think the way the teenagers reacted to the realisation that Australia may have been invaded or at war was realistic? Why/why not
Yes because once they started to get worried about why their parents weren't there they started to think that something big was going on and that they didn't know what was happening.

4)What possible reasons exist that could spark war or invasion of Australia?
Having a bad leader/minister to lead the country and have people betraying the country by asking another country to come over and invade it.
5)Which people in the group are starting to stand out as leaders, is this surprising? Why/why not?
Homer, Fi, Kevin, Corrie these people in the group stand out because ever since the day of how the war started they now became more included with everyone in the group because different people have their way of showing there selfs.

That now he's starting to take everything seriously now, and now he's nicer and stronger than before.
7)Why does the idea of a female soldier surprise Ellie?
Because she's never seen a female soldier in the army before or maybe because there's something about the female soldier that she might remember that she could be her friend or sister.

8Ellie and Kevin’s quick-thinking allowed them to turn a ride-on lawnmower into a bomb. Was this moral behaviour? Did they do the right thing, or should they have surrendered themselves?
Yes, they did the right thing because if they surrendered to them they would be in the same place as everyone else that's in the showground (where everyone is held in).

10Sp English: Tomorrow when the war began Chapter 1-4

1)What are the advantages and disadvantages of first-person narration?
We couldn't tell about the other characters feelings, because it was mainly just about Ellie. Another one is that she had some things to do with friends meaning going out camping and trying to convince the parents to let them go.

2)What kind of story do you think Ellie is going to tell? Uses evidence from the text to support your answers.
A good story, it starts off being all unorganised and with a bad relationship with friends. But then throughout the whole things when going to the campsite things started getting to a good story.

3)What set of skills do these characters have that convince their parents that they can ‘go bush’ independently. Find examples for three characters.
Ellie, Fi, Homer Ellie gives her friends a ring and then tries to persuade the parents to let her friends go with her.
Fi, minding her own business then Ellies calls in.
Homer, Bullied people then got ask about camping out with Some of Ellie's friends or because of Kevin he got ask that it was gonna be him so he asked homer.

4)What picture of Kevin do we get in chapter 3?
That he gets scared really quick, due to his dishonesty of being brave and all.
5)What does Ellie liken Fi to? Do you think this is a fair assessment of her character? Use examples from the text to support your thinking

6)Ellie claims that ‘Hell’ is only a label and that people label things all the time, often ignoring or overlooking certain labelled places or things. She then comes to the conclusion that ‘Hell was people’. Is she right? What’s your opinion, on labelling and Hell?
Yes, she is because in my opinion hell can be a place for people but also hell can be people at the same time. In saying that Hell can be a label but also a place with being hell for people. So yes I agree with Ellie's point of view.

7)What was especially peculiar about the planes that flew over Hell? ‘Their ------, their ------, their----- frightened me.’ Do these characteristics have any significance?
That it came out of nowhere so they don't know what will happen. Yes because they are important to the story along with everyone in it unless its something that's going to be boring with no characters.

10Treble: Funny??? Not Funny???

What is comedy?
Comedy is a genre of being funny in a way of trying to make the person or audience laugh or not laugh (which is still funny because of the awkwardness).
